Scan to Watch is designed to process your documents primarily on your
device. This Policy describes data processed when you use the iPhone and
Apple Watch app.
1. Data we process
The app may process documents, images, PDFs, OCR-extracted text,
barcodes, QR codes, titles, categories, favorites, and notes that you
choose to import or create. This data is needed to organize and show
items on iPhone and, when you request it, on Apple Watch.
We may also process limited technical data, such as app version,
device type, operating system, permitted usage events, crash reports,
app settings, and device language.
2. Local processing and Watch synchronization
Original files, images, and recognized content are processed and kept
locally on your iPhone. The app does not upload your documents to our
own server to perform OCR, barcode reading, or search.
When you send an item to Apple Watch, iPhone transfers metadata and
optimized versions of the content using Apple technologies. The
original file is not sent to the watch. You can remove items from the
Watch or delete them on iPhone at any time.
3. Purposes of processing
- import, process, organize, and display documents and images;
- synchronize selected items with Apple Watch;
- send synchronization alerts and engagement notifications when permitted;
- fix failures, protect the app, and improve its stability;
- measure limited usage only according to your privacy choices.
4. Notifications
The app may ask permission to send synchronization alerts and no more
than one daily engagement notification. An installation is associated
with a language topic so a message can be delivered in the device's
configured language. The app does not keep its own notification-token
list or use a token for behavioral analytics.
You can disable all notifications in iOS settings. Delivery depends on
device permissions, connectivity, the operating system, battery, and
third-party services.
5. Third-party services
The app uses Firebase services for Cloud Messaging, Remote Config,
crash diagnostics, and related features. If you authorize tracking and
leave usage-data sharing enabled, the app may send technical,
anonymized events to Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel. We do not send
your files, images, PDFs, OCR text, barcode content, titles, notes, or
file names to these services.
Apple, Firebase, Google, and Mixpanel may process data under their own
policies and, where applicable, in other countries subject to their
security measures and contractual safeguards.
6. Retention, security, and your rights
Content data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the
app. Technical security and crash records may be retained by providers
for as long as needed to operate, protect, and improve their services.
You may request information, correction, deletion, objection, or other
rights available under data protection law at
ssrc.tic@gmail.com. Because
app content stays on your device, deleting it in the app is normally
the most direct way to remove it.
7. Children and third-party data
We do not recommend adding sensitive, intimate, financial, health, or
unnecessary information to documents, titles, or notes. If you add
content that identifies another person, including a child, you are
responsible for having the appropriate authorization and legal basis.
8. Policy updates
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the app, integrated
services, or the law. The current version will remain available on
this page with a revised update date.
